HOSTESS BRANDS A has return on total asset (ROA) of 2.86 % which means that it generated profit of $2.86 on every $100 spent on asset. This is way below average. Similarly, it shows return on equity (ROE) of 4.58 %, meaning that it generated $4.58 on every $100 dollars invested by stockholders. HOSTESS BRANDS management efficiency ratios could be used to measure how well the company manages its routine affairs as well as how well it operates its assets and liabilities.
The company has accumulated 985.42 M in total debt with debt to equity ratio (D/E) of 62.7, indicating the company may have difficulties to generate enough cash to satisfy its financial obligations. HOSTESS BRANDS A has a current ratio of 2.18, suggesting that it is liquid and has the ability to pay its financial obligations in time and when they become due. Debt can assist HOSTESS BRANDS until it has trouble settling it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. So, HOSTESS BRANDS's shareholders could walk away with nothing if the company can't fulfill its legal obligations to repay debt. However, a more frequent occurrence is when companies like HOSTESS BRANDS A sell additional shares at bargain prices, diluting existing shareholders. Debt, in this case, can be an excellent and much better tool for HOSTESS to invest in growth at high rates of return. When we think about HOSTESS BRANDS's use of debt, we should always consider it together with cash and equity.
